Friedrich Friedrich has already been committed to the topics of ecology and sustainability for many years. With comprehensive measures for increased energy efficiency, we have developed into one of the leading freight companies in matters concerning climate protection.
Apart from the logistical efficiency, the topic of sustainability is also very important to Friedrich Friedrich. Since 2012, our removal company has been certified in accordance with DIN ISO 14001, and as such is considered a particularly ecologically aware company that reduces harmful substances and acts in an environmentally friendly manner. With the climate-neutral removal, we have created the corresponding offer to reflect our environmental awareness and actively involve our customers in climate protection initiatives.
Investments in innovative technology
Since 2013, the company headquarters in Griesheim (close to Darmstadt) has boasted an own photovoltaic installation on its roof. Additional investments were made in a state-of-the-art and more efficient energy supply of the company location in Griesheim. The heating of the warehouse areas and the office rooms of our removal company is ensured by nine heating pumps that take the electricity required for this from the photovoltaic installation. With an annually calculated performance of approx. 186,000 kWh, the solar panels have resulted in self-sufficient energy supply of Friedrich Friedrich since January 2014. Saving of about 100 tons of CO2 annually
Due to the modernisation measures set in place, we were successful at saving significant amounts of CO2. This also reduced the variable share of CO2 with the climate-neutral private removals or climate-neutral company removals. Among others, the insulation of the outer facade and the new installation of the electricity mains and electrical distribution have led to an annual saving of 97 tons of CO2 at the Griesheim (Darmstadt) location. Despite these successes, we continually make adjustments to continue on this path. Procurement measures by our removal company are always critically evaluated from the perspective of climate protection and CO2 savings.
The sister companies of Friedrich Friedrich, Höhne-Grass in Mainz and J.& G. Adrian in Wiesbaden have also already conducted extensive measures in the fields of energy optimisation and, as such, pursue a corporate polity that is aligned to environmentally-friendly principles.
